+composites Webinar

Event Date:
Wednesday, 2 July, 2014 - 10:00

On July 2, 2014 François Narbonneau from Multitel held the webinar: Optical Fibre sensors for strain monitoring: principle and application to composite materials with the example of a carbon mast of a catamaran.

The continuous monitoring of physical and chemical parameters in harsh environments, or of physiological parameters in the medical field, is required in several sensing applications. Optical sensors can perform these multiple functions in a wide range of applications to improve the quality and speed of industrial processes, for quality control, medical diagnosis or for preventing and monitoring possible anomalies.

In this webinar, we spoke about Optical Fibre sensors for strain monitoring : It was explained principle and application to composite materials, with the example of a carbon mast of a catamaran.

Speaker : François Narbonneau, Applied Photonics Department, Multitel  (Mons – Belgium)
